EDF, Trafigura Hire Coal Traders From JPMorgan and Mercuria

Oct. 11 (Bloomberg) -- EDF Trading and Trafigura Beheer BV
hired coal traders from JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Mercuria Energy
Ltd., according to a note by Commodity Appointments Ltd.
Damian Au quit JPMorgan to join EDF in Singapore while
Chris Goodman and Jason Baird, coal traders at Mercuria, joined
Trafigura, according to the placement consultant. Hess Corp.
hired Toby Costin, who previously worked for Macquarie Group Ltd.
and Louis Dreyfus Corp., to set up an European coal trading desk,
the consultant said, without giving the location of the
appointment.
Barry Mazhari has left as head of Statoil ASA's U.K. gas
trading in London to join Vitol Group in Geneva, the consultant
said. Olav Refvik has joined Noble Group in London as global
head of liquid fuels from Morgan Stanley, and James Groves has
moved to Singapore from London as head of commodities for Asia-
Pacific for Barclays Capital.
