Oct. 19 (Bloomberg) -- The European Energy Exchange will
hold its final German European Union carbon permit futures
auction for this year on Oct. 27., the exchange said today.
The remaining German permits for auction will be sold via
weekly spot auctions. Some 870,000 will be auctioned every
Tuesday from Nov.2, the Leipzig-based exchange said by e-mail.
The German government opted to hold back 10 percent of its
emission permits to sell via auctions. The EEX held 82 weekly
spot and futures auctions since January and sold 35.67 million
permits, the bourse said in the e-mail. The average
oversubscription rate of the auctions was 5.4 times, it said.
