Oct. 18 (Bloomberg) -- The U.K. government said it decided
not to move ahead with offering subsidies for tidal energy
projects on the Severn River, saying generating energy from wind
and nuclear power represent better value for money.
Energy Secretary Chris Huhne disclosed the decision in a
written statement to Parliament posted on his department's
website in London today.
