global biggest market caps attached Edward, Former Citigroup Emissions Trader, Joins PetroChina
By Mathew Carr
Oct. 18 (Bloomberg) -- Garth Edward, formerly an emissions
trader and director of environmental products at Citigroup Inc.
in London, started work today at PetroChina Co.
Edward will head the oil producer's emissions and
environmental-trading business in London, he said today by phone
and e-mail. His focus may not be the so-called Clean Development
Mechanism, a product of the 1997 Kyoto Protocol,
he said. "There's more to an emissions business than CDM," he
said, without being more specific.
Beijing-based PetroChina, the world's second-biggest
company by market value after Exxon Mobil Corp., doesn't have
plants covered by the European Union emissions market, Edward
said.
