Oct. 20 (Bloomberg) -- The U.K. postponed the sale of
carbon emission allowances to about 5,000 companies and
organizations by a year to 2012 and said revenue from the
program will go to government rather than be distributed back
among the participants according to their performance.
The so-called Carbon Reduction Commitment Energy Efficiency
Scheme will be "simplified to reduce the burden on business,"
the Treasury said in a spending review document released on its
website.
