Oct. 19 (Bloomberg) -- E.ON Energy Trading SE, a unit of
Germany's biggest utility, on Oct. 15 completed its first
transaction on the Green Exchange LLC, a new carbon market owned
by CME Group Inc.'s New York Mercantile Exchange.
The Dusseldorf-based company bought a cleared December 2010
over-the-counter contract for European emissions, it said today
in an e-mailed statement.
Trading on the Green Exchange will give E.ON better access
to the U.S. emissions market, which will "increasingly
influence what happens in Europe," Tom Sargent, the company's
head of power and emissions trading, said in the statement.
