Sept. 16 (Bloomberg) -- China has rejected a complaint by
the United Steelworkers union with the U.S. government against
Chinese renewable-energy products, the state-run China Daily
reported, citing a government official.
China's environmental-protection policies conform with
World Trade Organisation rules, the newspaper said, citing Yao
Jian, spokesman for the Chinese commerce ministry. The U.S.
should reject the union's filing for investigation and preserve
the countries' bilateral ties, Yao was quoted as saying.
The United Steelworkers union said on Sept. 9 that China is
adopting protectionist policies in helping its companies expand
their clean-energy sales at the expense of production and job
creation in the U.S.
