Sept. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Analysts at Barclays Plc raised
their estimate for European Union carbon allowance prices in the
second half of this year by 3.3 percent to 15.50 euros a metric
ton.
Trevor Sikorski, a London-based analyst at Barclays
Capital, estimated that the supply of Certified Emission
Reduction credits overseen by the United Nations will be 100
million tons, 23 percent lower than his previous forecast. A UN
decision to retroactively change its rules on credits from
hydrofluorocarbon-reduction projects "would set an appalling
regulatory precedent," he said today in a note to clients.
