Aug. 9 (Bloomberg) -- The spread between 2010 United
Nations emission offsets and those for 2012 delivery advanced to
the widest level since July 13 as the supply of new credits
continued at a slow pace for a second month.
The premium of 2010 UN Certified Emission Reduction credits
over the same contract for 2012 gained 5 cents, or 19 percent,
to 32 euro cents ($0.42) a metric ton on the European Climate
Exchange in London as of 5:15 p.m.
EU allowances for December rose 2.3 percent to 14.56 euros,
the biggest advance since Aug. 2.
The UN Framework Convention on Climate change secretariat
issued 132,000 tons of credits so far this month, compared with
2.5 million tons last month, 3.4 million tons in June and 10.5
million tons in May, according to UN data.
