Aug. 19 (Bloomberg) -- The premium for European Union
carbon permits over United Nations credits may narrow 29
percent to 1 euros ($1.28), analysts at Orbeo said.
The spread between EU allowances and Certified Emission
Reduction credits for 2010 may shrink from 1.42 euros a metric
ton today after UN regulators said yesterday they will increase
scrutiny on projects intended to reduce HFC-23.
"What happens on CER could propel EUA up a bit, but I think
this is a pure CER story, and EUA should not benefit
proportionnally," Emmanuel Fages, a Paris-based analyst at
Orbeo, a joint venture of Societe Generale and Rhodia SA, said
today in an e-mail.
