Aug. 13 (Bloomberg) -- Barclays Bank Plc has joined as the
17th member of Nasdaq OMX Group Inc.'s N2EX U.K. power exchange,
according to information on the bourse's Web site.
The exchange run by Nasdaq and Nord Pool is competing head-
to-head with Amsterdam-based APX BV and ICE Futures Europe to
offer power trading in Britain. It may attract more energy
traders after U.K. regulator Ofgem called for more competition
with the six largest utilities. N2EX started its day-ahead
auction and prompt market on Jan. 12.
