Nov. 8 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. automakers and car dealers plan
to fight President Barack Obama's administration over proposals
to raise average new-car economy to as much as 62 miles to a
gallon of fuel by 2025, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing
trade groups.
Dave McCurdy, president of the Alliance of Automobile
Manufacturers, believes the new Republican-controlled House of
Representatives will review the plans; rising profit and a
stronger Republican presence in Congress have led the
manufacturers and dealers to adopt a more confrontational
approach, the newspaper said.
