E.ON to Generate CO2 Credits by Flaring Methane From Hanoi Dump

Nov. 19 (Bloomberg) -- E.ON AG will generate carbon-dioxide
emission credits by flaring methane from a landfill near Hanoi
in a clean development mechanism project with Bionersis SA.
The 6.6 million-euro ($9.1 million) Vietnamese project will
abate the equivalent of 4.5 million tons of carbon over the next
20 years, the two companies said today in a joint statement.
They plan to install a 5-megawatt power plant which would run on
the fuel in a second phase, according to the statement.
