Nov. 3 (Bloomberg) -- Chinese wind turbine makers Sinovel
Wind Group Co. and Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology Co.
won 80 percent of orders in a tender for 3.3 gigawatts of
projects in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and Hebei
province, Economic Observer News reported, citing people it
didn't identify.
The original tender for the supply of wind turbines was 3.5
gigawatts, including 2 gigawatts of projects in Hami in Xinjiang
and 1.5 gigawatts in Zhangjiakou in Hebei. The tender for the
200-megawatt Yandun wind farm in Hami, developed by Beijing
Tianrun New Energy Investment Co., may need to be negotiated
further because it drew only a one bid, from Goldiwnd, the
report said.
Besides Beijing Tianrun's project, Goldwind also won the
bid to supply turbines to 1.3 gigawatts of projects, the report
said.
Sinovel secured 1.35 gigawatts of orders, with the remaining
650 megawatts going to Zhejiang Windey Wind Generating
Engineering Co., XEMC Windpower Co., Guodian United Power
Technology Co. and Guangdong Mingyang Wind Power Technology Co.,
the report said.
