Nov. 9 (Bloomberg) -- United Nations climate talks in
Cancun, Mexico, this month are unlikely to end in agreements
that attract more private capital, Abyd Karmali, global head of
carbon markets at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, said in London.
"Cancun's unlikely to give birth to anything that will
allow more private capital to flow directly as a result of a UN-
negotiated mechanism," Karmali told delegates at the Climate
Finance 2010 conference in London.
Projects under the Reducing Emissions from Deforestation
and Forest Degradation, or REDD, program may be able to attract
private capital, he said.
