By Mathew Carr
Sept. 8 (Bloomberg) -- The United Nations emissions market
is becoming "an increasingly dangerous place to do business,"
according to an analyst at the investment bank of Barclays Plc.
A proposal that may require auditors to purchase improperly
issued greenhouse gas offsets may "wipe out" those firms with
excessive costs, Trevor Sikorksi, a London-based analyst at
Barclays Capital, said in a Sept. 6 research note. The proposal
from the UN's regulatory board also may add to "already long
delays" in credit approval, Sikorski said.
