Aug. 4 (Bloomberg) -- A United Nations Environment Program
unit trimmed its forecast for the supply of greenhouse-gas
credits by 3.1 percent on low issuance last month and rejection
of projects at a meeting last week in Bonn.
The UN will probably issue Clean Development Mechanism
credits for 981 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent
through 2012, compared with a previous forecast of 1.01 billion
tons for the period, according to data posted on the Risoe
Centre on Energy, Climate & Sustainable Development's website.
Risoe is based in Roskilde, Denmark. The estimate was increased
last month from a record-low 975 million tons in June.
During July, 122 new projects applied for credits, Risoe
said. "The CDM pipeline is expanding with high speed, like in
June," the agency said.
