EU CO2 Permits Steady as Volume Rises to Highest Since July 22

Aug. 3 (Bloomberg) -- European Union carbon-dioxide
allowances, used in the world's biggest emissions market, were
little changed, as trading volume for the benchmark contract
rose to its highest level since July 22.
EU permits for December decreased 5 cents, or 0.4 percent,
to 14.44 euros ($19.10) a metric ton at 5:42 p.m. on London's
European Climate Exchange. They have risen 15 percent this year.
The volume traded jumped 26 percent today to 13.1 million tons.
UN Certified Emission Reduction credits for December gained 5
cents to 12.31 euros a ton.
