Nov. 3 (Bloomberg) -- Statoil ASA, Norway's biggest oil and
gas producer, said a compressor fault at the Kollsnes natural-
gas plant that's reducing exports won't be fixed this year.
"Last week it became clear that the problems with a
compressor that occurred at Kollsnes following the maintenance
shutdown will last the year out," Helge Lund, Statoil's chief
executive officer, said today at a press conference in Oslo.
"This will reduce the flow activity through the plant, which
impacts our export opportunities."
Gassco AS, operator of Norway's pipeline network, couldn't
immediately be reached for comment. The Kollsnes plant supplies
the U.K. and mainland Europe and hasn't reached full exports
since it returned from planned maintenance on Sept. 27.
Capacity at Kollsnes is cut to between 80 million and 120
million cubic meters a day, Gassco said Oct. 27. Full capacity
is 143 million cubic meters.
