New York, London, Toronto Agree to Report Carbon Emissions

By Mathew Carr
Nov. 1 (Bloomberg) -- New York, London and Toronto agreed
to report emissions data to the Carbon Disclosure Project to
improve climate protection.
Standard disclosure from local governments can help cities
share best practice, manage risk and cut costs, the project said
today in an e-mailed statement. Under the so-called CDP Cities
program started today, the project will ask about 59 cities to
voluntarily measure and report emissions, it said.
The London-based Carbon Disclosure Project, which counts
Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and Morgan Stanley among its members,
aims to raise awareness of risks posed by greenhouse gases
blamed for climate change. The group represents 534 investors
with $64 trillion of assets.
