Dec. 14 (Bloomberg) --The premium on United Nations
emission credits for 2010 over those for 2011 jumped 35 percent
to the widest since Oct. 26 after global climate-protection
talks endorsed the continuation of offset markets.
"Emissions trading and the project-based mechanisms under
the Kyoto Protocol shall continue to be available" to
industrialized nations to meet their emission-reduction targets,
UN envoys agreed at a meeting ended Dec. 11 in Cancun, Mexico.
The premium for December 2010 Certified Emission Reduction
credits rose 35 percent to 50 euro cents a ton on the ICE
Futures Europe exchange in London as of 4:47 p.m.
