Jan. 20 (Bloomberg) -- European Commission's director
general for climate Jos Delbeke said up to 2 million European
Union carbon allowances could be missing after recent hacking
attacks in the bloc's emissions trading system.
"We don't have final data, but the maximum amount that
we're foreseeing might have been transferred without
authorization is 2 million," Delbeke told journalists in
Brussels today. "This is a tiny part of all permits in the
system, but we want to act proactively."
